Some of the top Qatari employers are vying to recruit the best available talent in the market at the ongoing four-day Qatar Career Fair.
RasGas will be participating in the Qatar Career Fair all week as a diamond sponsor and encourages Qatari nationals to visit their stand and learn more about the many career prospects available with the company, an official said.
RasGas Employee, Development and Welfare group manager Erhama al-Kaabi said from the stand: “RasGas participation at the Qatar Career Fair will present opportunities to Qatari talent to enroll in our National Development Programme. There are many exciting careers opportunities to offer to qualified candidates in 2010.”
Young Qataris seeking challenging careers found much to spark their interest at the Qtel booth on the inaugural day of the Qatar Career Fair.
Qtel Group Human Resources executive director Sheikh Saud bin Nasser al-Thani said: “We were delighted to welcome job- seekers at our booth at the Qatar Career Fair. Young people really want to know how to further their career dreams, and they were full of questions about opportunities at Qtel and steps to take for success.”
According to the official, in order to get guidance on career opportunities at Qtel, fair-goers who submit a completed application at the Qtel booth will be entered into a daily raffle for a BlackBerry Bold 9700 Smartphone.
Meanwhile, as part of its plan to meet its growing human capital needs, QNB Group chief executive officer Ali Shareef al-Emadi yesterday said that the bank aims to recruit 150 top Qatari graduates during the fair.
Al-Emadi said: “Qatar Career Fair is an important platform for the development of human potential for the overall development of Qatar. To help sustain QNB’s growing human capital requirements, we aim to recruit 150 top graduates aiming to enhance the current Qatarisation ratio of 53%.”
QNB is a Gold Exhibitor of the fair.
Another major employer, Qatargas yesterday said its theme of participation at this year’s event is “A Shining Career with Qatargas”.
Qatargas Administration chief operating officer Ghanim al-Kuwari said: “Qatargas is going through an important phase of expansion. Our vision is to be the world’s premier liquefied natural gas (LNG) company by 2015. As Qatargas considers people it’s most vital and valuable asset, attracting, developing and retaining qualified nationals forms an integral part of our recruitment policy.”
