Jeev Milkha Singh has been paired with three-time Major winner Ernie Els and Europe’s number one golfer Robert Karlsson for the first two rounds of the Qatar Masters, which gets underway here on Thursday.

Apart from Jeev, two other Indians — Jyoti Randhawa and SSP Chowrasia — are also in the fray for the USD 2.5 million European Tour event. Jeev, Els and Karlsson will have an early morning start with the trio playing their back nine first.

Randhawa has been paired with Englishmen Paul Broadhurst and Simon Hurd and they would start at the 10th tee in the afternoon. SSP Chowrasia, meanwhile, will have Ireland’s Peter Lawrie and Spanish sensation Pablo Martin.

Adam Scott has an incredible 100 per cent success rate here and the Australian defending champion would go for a treble at the Doha Golf Club this week. Scott won on his 2002 debut here and again on his return last year.

Scott’s job, however, would not be easy as the tournament would feature 18 of the top 50 players. American Ryder Cup star Boo Weekley, Retief Goosen, Paul Casey, Sergio Garcia, Soren Hansen, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Karlsson, Justin Rose, Henrik Stenson, Lee Westwood and Oliver Wilson will also be fancying their chances here.
