Leading Qatari companies open doors to job-seekers

Some of the top Qatari employers are vying to recruit the best available talent in the market at the ongoing four-day Qatar Career Fair.
RasGas will be participating in the Qatar Career Fair all week as a diamond sponsor and encourages Qatari nationals to visit their stand and learn more about the many career prospects available with the company, an official said.
RasGas Employee, Development and Welfare group manager Erhama al-Kaabi said from the stand: “RasGas participation at the Qatar Career Fair will present opportunities to Qatari talent to enroll in our National Development Programme. Worley JV US$100M Contract Extension In Qatar

Transfield Services Ltd. (TSE.AU) said Thursday that its joint venture with WorleyParsons Ltd. (WOR.AU) has a US$100 million contract for maintenance and other work with RasGas in Qatar.

The work is a two-year extension of the joint venture’s existing contract, which has been expanded to include shutdowns, bringing its total value of work with RasGas to US$117 million, the Sydney-based company said in a statement.

RasGas is a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum, which holds a 70% stake, and ExxonMobil, which has a 30% interest, to operate liquified natural gas facilities in the Middle Eastern state.

Indians to Set Up Petrochemical Complex in Qatar

Indian GAIL and Reliance Industries Limited companies are due to set up a gas-burning Petrochemical complex in Qatar.

The companies have negotiated about establishing the complex with Qatar Petroleum.

Besides, there are some media reports that Petronet LNG Limited is discussing import of LNG to expand capacity in Dahej and for planned Kochi terminal with RasGas Qatar.

Petronet LNG Limited inked a contract with RasGas, Qatar in July 1999 to import 7.5 million metric ton per annum of Liquefied Natural Gas for a period of 25 years.

According to the contract, supply of 5 million metric ton per annum of LNG began in 2004 and the supply of balance 2.5 million metric ton per annum of LNG will start in the last quarter of 2009.

CERA-RasGas sees Qatar-Kuwait LNG deal before summer

The chief executive of Qatar’s RasGas said on Wednesday that a contract with Kuwait is being finished and he expects Qatari liquefied natural gas to start flowing to Kuwait by summer.

“We expect to finalize it before summer. We’re ready,” Hamad Rashid al Mohannadi said on the sidelines of the CERAWEEK international energy conference.
