Qatar’s initiatives in promoting Arab culture and tradition get praise from various Ministers of Arab countries that are here in Doha for participating in the Doha cultural event under the theme ”Arab Culture as a Homeland and Doha as a Capital”.

Dr Riyad Nassan Aha, Minister of Culture, Syria expressed his gratitude for providing a prominent role to his country in the “Doha Capital ofArab Culture 2010”.

Aha said, “I thank Qatar for selecting my country to host the first week’s celebrations. Qatar is known across the world for its initiatives in promoting Arab Culture.”

Saudi Arabia Culture Minsiter- Dr Abdul Aziz Hoja hailed Qatar for making efforts to promote both Arab and Islamic Culture. He also expressed happiness over the elaborate preparations made byQatar for hosting the event.

Azedin Neehobi, Minister of Communications, Algeria added, “The events being showcased by Qatar reflect a blend of ancient and modern culture of Arab region. Qatar is fast progressing in all aspects of development covering politics, democracy, economy and culture.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, Qatari Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage welcomed the guests and expressed the commitment to preserve great Islamic and Arabian heritage.
